Stabinger Hof sits at 1,300 m in Sexten, South Tyrol, in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site. Four chalets – Anton, Marianna, Timo and Susi – plus Apartment Gsell in the farmhouse, each with its own sauna. Children may help look after the donkeys, goats, horses and chickens. The cross-country trail is about five minutes away, and the Helm lifts are about five minutes by bus.

Breakfast basket, eggs from the coop and the farm animals

You order the breakfast basket online the evening before – bread and croissants, speck and alpine cheese, jams and honey. In the morning it is waiting at your door. The children fetch the eggs from the hen house – and can then help with feeding.

With the Dolomiti Superski pass you can go well beyond the 3 Zinnen ski area.

Ski circuit around the Sella group through Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba and Val di Fassa: 23 km of slopes, 21 km by lift, around six hours. Start before 10 am.

Seiser Alm

Europe’s largest high alpine pasture with 80 km of cross-country trails. The Seiser Alm cable car takes about 15 minutes up from Seis; the road is closed uphill from 9 am to 5 pm.

    Winter holidays in Sexten

    3 Zinnen Dolomites ski area, toboggan runs and cross-country trails – the Helm lift is five minutes away by bus.

    In shortThe 3 Zinnen Dolomites ski area has 115 km of ski slopes and 31 lifts; the 2026/27 season runs from 28 November 2026 to 4 April 2027. From Stabinger Hof it is two minutes on foot to the Lahnerweg bus stop and about five minutes on bus 440.1 to the Helm lifts; on foot it takes about 20 minutes. The cross-country trail is on the other side of the village, about five minutes away.

    Summer and autumn in the Sexten Dolomites

    Hiking from the front door, Val Fiscalina, the Three Peaks – and your own sauna in the evening.

    In shortStabinger Hof is the starting point for many hikes, such as up the local mountain Gsell or around the Three Peaks. One of the easiest routes leads from the Rotwand cable car car park through Val Fiscalina to the Talschlusshütte at 1,535 m: about 9 km and 181 m of ascent, pushchair-friendly.

    From Innichen to Lienz, about 44 km, mostly downhill – back by train. Guests can borrow bikes at the farm.

    Lake Prags, Lake Misurina and Lake Toblach are easy day trips. For swimming: the Sexten outdoor pool and the Acquafun leisure pool in Innichen.

    How to get to Sexten

    Sexten lies in the far east of South Tyrol, at the end of the Alta Pusteria valley, right on the border with East Tyrol.

    By car

    Take the Brenner motorway to the Brixen/Pustertal exit, drive through the Puster Valley to San Candido and on to Sexten. From East Tyrol via Lienz.

    By train

    Take the Puster Valley railway to San Candido, then the bus on to Sexten.

    By plane

    The nearest airports are Innsbruck, Bolzano, Venice and Treviso. From there, continue by hire car, train or transfer.

    Once here

    The car can stay put: Lahnerweg bus stop is two minutes on foot, line 440.1 goes to the Helm lifts.

    Shuttle

    On request we’ll pick you up with our shuttle. Just drop us a line after booking.

    When you visit the website, our hosting provider processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, page visited, browser and operating system) in server log files in order to provide the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after a short period. Fonts are hosted locally; no connection to Google Fonts is made.

    3. Contact by email, phone or enquiry form

    If you contact us – including via the enquiry form (name, email, optional phone, travel dates and message) – we process your details to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare your stay (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

    4. Online booking

    For bookings we use the „BOOKED“ booking portal by Anexis (widgets.cloud.anex.is). The data you enter there (e.g. name, contact details, travel dates, payment details) is processed to carry out the booking (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Anexis acts as our processor.

    5. Online check-in and registration duty

    For online check-in we use a service by Simedia (widgets.simedia.cloud). We are legally required to report our guests’ personal details to the competent authority (Art. 109 TULPS). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR; the local tourist tax is also collected on a statutory basis.

    6. Consent and cookies

    We store your choice from the cookie banner in your browser’s local storage (technically necessary). External content and statistics are only loaded if you have consented or actively clicked on the content (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time via „Cookie settings“ in the footer. Details on the Cookies page.

    7. Google Analytics
